2023 WOD Header

YWCA is pleased to announce that the 32nd Women of Distinction (WOD) gala event will be held on Thursday, May 4 at Julia’s Banquet Center in East Alton. The spectacular event recognizes new WOD honorees with an award and special evening, acknowledging their many accomplishments. We also recognize the Josephine Marley Beckwith Future Leaders scholars and
Academy Members.

The gala event with around 300 people in attendance and is an excellent opportunity for visit with friends and to connect with the leaders in our communities. This signature YWCA event also serves as our prime fund raiser for the year.

We are truly looking forward to the selection process for this year’s honorees and the various celebrations we have planned for this year’s honorees.

WOD Support Opportunities

At YWCA, we truly look forward to recognizing our female leaders who work tirelessly to give back to our communities through time, talent, mentoring and resources, advocate for specific policies, attitudes and actions that go toward eliminating racism and creating positive social change, and create programs that positively impact women and families in the areas of health, safety and economic stability or development.

At YWCA, we know that there are many unsung heroes who meet this criteria. Stories of womens’ contributions fill our local papers and social media. We are asking for your support to help us identify WOD nominees. Our selection committee is ready to evaluate the nominations and make selections for this years honorees. We are excited to share success stories with the community and look forward to our 32nd Annual Women of Distinction events.

We also ask for your financial support to assist us with this year’s events and to support the day in and day out work that YWCA does to address our mission with impactful programs on behalf of our communities.
