Since 1991, the YWCA of Alton honors and celebrates dynamic leaders who are making a difference in the Riverbend and embody our mission to eliminate racism and empower women by inducting them into the YWCA Women of Distinction Academy. In their work and community service, they fight inequality with grace, unify diverse individuals to work as one for the better good, and encourage the enhancement of everyone’s unique qualities. In nearly three decades, the YWCA of Alton has honored and celebrated over 280 Women of Distinction and annually celebrates their contribution and dedication to the community at the Women of Distinction Event.
