Josephine Marley Beckwith Future 2019 Leader Scholars
Hello, my name is Ashlyn Green, currently a senior at Alton High School. Throughout my four years at Alton High I’ve enjoyed a wide variety of experiences and opportunities. I’ve always upheld positive relationships with my peers and teachers. I continuously challenge myself with honors and dual credit courses. I am involved in a variety of clubs and organizations such as Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), board member and member of the Racial Justice Committee of YWCA of Alton, student advisory, Student Council, Interact Club (President), Redbird Word (News Editor), National Honor Society, and Upward Bound.
I am a proud member of students who show positive leadership and are invited to join a group that encourages positive activities- Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Kindness (RRSK). During my freshman and sophomore year I participated in basketball, track, and soccer. A torn ACL in my knee ended my career in sports. Luckily, my support system encouraged me to keep pushing. My senior year has been tremendous. I stepped out of my comfort zone by doing the Fall Play, received Rotary Student of the Month for September, was elected president of Interact Club, while being employed at Godfrey Little Caesars.
